Driving through the treacherous, south-western part of the Panamint Mountain Range, we discovered that a 10% road grade is the limit for our travel trailer setup. Descending at 25 mph in a very low gear, our engine was reving over 5,000 rpm and even the occasional use of brakes was causing them to smoke. Thanks to everyone who prayed for our safe travels. We had a very stressful drive and vowed to avoid anything higher than an 8% grade in the future. The bright side of our trip was more, spectacular scenery, and some great mini-hikes while our brakes were cooling.
