Day 34: Big Bend, Texas

We left a book with the broadcasting folks at God's Learning Channel in Odessa before heading west through the Big Bend region of Texas. The weatherman was forecasting a high of 104 degrees (40 C). However, it was remarkably bearable because of the dry air. The area around Odessa is flat and barren, except for the forests of oil pumps. Things got a lot more scenic as we approached the mountains to the east of El Paso where we plan to spend the next two days
