Day 18: Naval Aviation

After setting up at River's Edge RV Campground in Holt, FL, we took a day trip to the National Navy Aviation Museum in Pensacola. They had lots of historic aircraft, including Nixon's helicopter. A tour guide told us this was "one of the top three museums" because they let you touch and climb into stuff. It was pretty cool sitting inside actual fighter plane cockpits and playing with the controls. We also took a ride in a fighter plane simulator in which we had full control. Not having figured out which one of us had control when we started, we nosedived it into the ground in the first minute (a bit of a nauseating experience). Doing a loop actually turns you upside down hanging from your straps. Lots of fun!
